Youth & kids
Children and youth are one of the greatest treasures at First Pres and they are active in church activities throughout the year including our annual Youth Sunday, special events and holiday celebrations, worship skits, music and service activities. Each week in worship, we feature a Children’s Story Time that includes a lesson and a prayer specially tailored to our youngest attendees. Children 6 and up serve as acolytes at worship services and older children participate with other youth across the Presbytery in special events and retreats. Older youth also participate in Confirmation classes to prepare for membership in the church. The first Sunday of each month, we offer Kids Korner during worship, where preschool and elementary-aged children depart the sanctuary following the Children’s Story Time for a lesson and learning activity before returning to the sanctuary to celebrate Communion with the entire congregation. Choir
The First Pres choir offers a musical complement to Sunday worship that provides greater understanding of the Word and liturgy. Weekly rehearsals on Sunday mornings give the opportunity for this group to prepare a wide variety of music for our use throughout the year. If you are interested in getting involved in the choir or playing an instrument in worship, please contact our music director for more information.
Fellowship
To be a part of the community at First Pres is to be seen, known and loved. Through special lunches, outings and gatherings, the First Pres family is always finding ways to connect and spend time together to deepen our ties and to have some fun! There is always something happening and all are welcome to join in.
